So Conan is finally here....and now almost a month old! I have just been posting pictures on facebook, but couldn't figure out how to post videos without it taking forever. Finally figured it out...through picasa web album. Here is Conan during tummy time:

BOY!!!

So we had our doctor's appointment on Thursday and found out we are having a boy! Nik was excited and started cheering in the room. For weeks Nik has been saying it's a boy and how the doctors don't know yet, but he does. Well now he's even more obnoxious, saying he always knew and had no worries...blah blah blah....but before our appointment, he did confess to being a little nervous. I'm really excited to be having a boy. Even though I felt like it was going to be a boy (but thought maybe Nik's obnoxiousness was just rubbing off on me), I was still kind of surprised. Growing up, with a family of all girls and then the first grandbaby being a girl, I guess I figured we'd end up having a girl as well.

So our baby is quite active. It was cute at first, but then appointments drag on forever and the nurses get annoyed. This last appointment the nurses needed a lot of measurements, so of course it took extra long. At first they joked about how active he is, then they got frustrated and kept saying "he's REALLY active". We are preparing ourselves now. Active can be a lot of fun, as long as it's manageable.

After our appointment we went shopping for an outfit for the baby to wear home from the hospital. We found this outfit at gymboree. Nik liked the bib and I really liked the hat. You can't see them in the picture, but there are little spikes going down the head. So cute!

So as far as names go...I am pretty sure we've settled on the name. We like the name Conan Zedekiah. Conan was the only boy name we've ever agreed on. At first Conan was just a name I liked, and now it's the only name I like for a boy. I'm still a little hesitant, with the whole Conan Obrien thing and all...but whatever...I like the name. So unless we think of another name we like better....Conan Zedekiah Brownell it is!

Christmas 09

So we are up in San Leandro for Christmas. Trying to figure out how to take photos with our new camera. Taking photos isn't the hard part, taking photos that aren't blurry is proving to be a bit of a challenge. We'll figure it out eventually.

So apparently our niece, Tegan, decided to suddenly love Nik. I don't get it. Thursday she cried when she saw him, but on Friday she would only go to him and kept snubbing her two (blood-related, I might add) aunts. I finally got her to sit with me, after bribing her with the remote control. Whatever, I'll take it.

oh...and we're gonna have a baby...due in july!

Decorating for Christmas

So a few days ago we decorated for Christmas. Nothing new or exciting, we just have a camera now so... pictures!

oh the horror

So I dragged Nik to Walmart today to get stuff for his upcoming school/work year. While there I spotted these strap legging things and though who in their right mind would bring those back? I am all for regular leggings, I have a few pairs. But I remember these things. Not cool. They irritated my feet and sagged in the crotch. Overall... not good. Then I noticed they were from Miley Cyrus' line. What does Hannah Montana know about the eighties...she's like 12! She has no idea how much of a pain these were. Really, I blame her management.

Had a very stressful day at work today. Got home late and exhausted. First thing I saw as I walked in... there on the table: the 2010 Ikea catelog! YES! I will now spend the rest of the night studying it.
